Torso Electronics S4 White + Carry Case + Cover is the version of this sampler that travels. The S4 is built for shaping material rather than browsing presets: you record a few seconds of anything and pull it apart from there. This set adds the hard case for transport and the polycarbonate cover for the days it simply sits on a desk. The white version differs in finish alone; the electronics and the included accessories are identical to the black variant.

Four tracks, five devices in each

Most compact samplers fall apart at the third idea, when everything shares one signal path and starts fighting for it. The S4 runs four parallel stereo tracks, and each carries its own chain of five devices: Material, Granular, Filter, Color and Space. Percussion can sit on short grains while a pad stretches out on the track beside it, without both of them being forced through the same effect.

The Carry Case has a shock-resistant hard shell and an interior moulded to the S4 outline, so nothing shifts in transit.
