The 16-channel Wunderbar with 24 monitor paths is the smallest configuration in the lineup that still delivers the complete Wunderbahn architecture — three independent stereo buses, fully discrete Class-A signal path, and transformer balancing at every point in the circuit. A single Powerbar PSU runs this frame with fully isolated DC voltage and audio paths. For project studios and smaller commercial rooms where real estate behind the desk is limited, this configuration keeps the full technical and sonic capability of the larger frames intact, scaled to a manageable physical footprint.

Complete Wunderbahn Architecture at Compact Scale

Regardless of frame size, every Wunderbar shares the same core summing design: the Fully Balanced Busing Scheme buffers ground out of the audio path, delivering a direct increase in dynamic range and a reduction in residual noise. The stereo bus section provides three independent amplifier flavors — Wunder, Neve 1272, and API 312 — each usable in isolation or cascaded simultaneously, with proportions adjusted by six master faders in the center section. All 16 channels carry transformer-balanced Direct Outputs and Insert Send/Return loops. The 1046 Routing Modules are fully transformer-balanced Class-A Discrete, with a flip-able monitor fader, six group buses with illuminated switches, four aux sends switchable pre/post, Pan Defeat, 48V phantom power, and Opto Silent Mute per channel.

Sixteen input channels and 24 monitor paths cover a full standard tracking setup — drums, bass, guitars, keys, and a lead vocal — without requiring submixing upstream of the console. The channel strip EQ is configurable as PEQ2 or PEQ4 four-band modules, or a mixed combination of both within the same frame. Exquisite Trim covers the end caps, meter bridge, and armrest in 1.5" solid hardwood (Oak, Walnut, or Roasted Coffee Bean Birch) with an inlaid logo, finished with Black or Brown Top Grain leather along the full armrest. Every unit is assembled by hand to the client's exact specifications by a team of over a dozen specialists, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to initiate the build.
