teenage engineering EP–35 is a portable speaker, guitar amp and effects processor in one battery-powered case. It has six inputs that play at the same time, including guitar, XLR microphone, line, Bluetooth and USB audio, so a single unit replaces a small rig for rehearsing, practising and playing away from home.
Guitar, mic and backing track without a mixer
Practising alone usually means an amp, a small mixer and a speaker for the backing track. The EP–35 puts it in one body: a 1/4 inch guitar input with low or high gain, an XLR microphone input with 48 V phantom power and eight built-in effects for guitar and mic. A stereo line input, Bluetooth and USB audio bring in a backing track or a second device, and all six inputs can be heard at once. The USB 2.0 audio interface also lets you record what you play to a computer.
Battery power and a build made for carrying
The built-in battery charges over USB-C, and the integrated handle and a storage compartment with a camping light make it easy to carry and use after dark. Bluetooth with LE Audio support has a broadcast mode that links any number of EP–35 units, so several speakers can play the same sound. The case works with accessories from the EP–Plug and EP–Grid systems, from the K.O. dock kit to bags, a strap and an FM antenna, so the EP–35 grows with your setup.
