Strandberg Boden Standard N2.6 Metal POWR:D Black Metallic is the six-string member of the Boden Metal family, rebuilt on the N2 platform. The basswood body has a curved top that supports the picking forearm, and the complete instrument comes in at 2.30 kg. Body, hardware and neck are all finished in black satin, including a black-coated EndurNeck profile.
A multi-scale you do not have to relearn
The fret fan spans only half an inch, from 25 inches on the first string to 25.5 inches on the sixth, with a 42 mm nut and 52.5 mm string spacing at the bridge. Those are the dimensions of a conventional six-string solidbody, so moving over from a headstock guitar asks nothing new of your fretting hand. The payoff sits in the tone: the lower strings gain a little tension, so drop D and lower tunings keep their attack definition without moving up a gauge. Titanium rods inside the roasted maple neck limit movement as humidity shifts, which with stainless frets across 24 positions means the action you set holds through a touring season.
Full tonal range out of two pickups
The active .strandberg* POWR:D by Fishman pickups carry two voices. Precision Voice delivers higher output and lifted upper mids for a compact attack under saturated rhythm parts. Dynamic Voice runs medium output with a flatter response weighted toward the frequency extremes, pushing the guitar into clean and crunch territory. The selector lives in the push-pull tone control, so both characters are reachable mid-song. The five-way switch adds single-coil combinations on top.
