Sonicware deconstruct MINIMAL is an 11-track groovebox from Japanese manufacturer Sonicware, unveiled at Superbooth 2026 as the first instrument in the new Deconstruct series — a separate line from the LIVEN range. At its core are a 10-track drum machine with sampler integration, an analog-modeling bass synthesizer inspired by the character of the TB-303, and a stereo loop sampler. The Feel parameter switches between 808, 909, and original MINIMAL modes — shifting rhythmic and pitch drift behavior across all percussion tracks simultaneously. Power: 6 x AA batteries or 9V PSU. Built-in speaker. Introductory price: $299/€299/£269 (first 1,000 units); MSRP $399/€399/£359. Shipping from mid-June 2026.

10-track drum machine with Feel mode and sampler integration

Nine percussion tracks draw from a library of 130 sounds across 10 banks and 16 kits; BD1 (bass drum) and SD (snare) each have dedicated synthesis engines, while the HH (hi-hat) models the characteristic sound variations of analog drum machines. Tracks 7–9 can operate as dedicated sample tracks replacing the standard drum voice — enabling import of custom samples or live recording via line input and USB. Track 10 is a stereo loop sampler with time-stretching supporting 4-bar loops. The sampler operates at 48 kHz / 16-bit WAV, mono and stereo. Feel mode toggles between 808, 909, and MINIMAL — each shifting subtle timing and pitch drift per track, organically altering the groove's sense of movement. Per track: accents/de-accents, random velocity, swing, sub-steps, parameter locks capturing knob movements, and phrase rotation. A drum-track isolator provides immediate low-end boost and cut during performance.

Analog-modeling bass synth and performance-focused effects

Track 11 is a newly developed analog-modeling bass synth engine inspired by the TB-303: 4-pole low-pass filter, overdrive, dedicated controls for glide time and curve, decay curve, and gate time. An alternate S01 mode evokes the character of a classic monophonic analog synthesizer with a different waveform set. Parameter locks and phrase rotation extend melodic expression significantly. The effects section covers a send reverb, a tape-echo style send delay, and performance master effects: sweep filter, phaser, distortion, snip loop, and ducking compressor. The sequencer handles 11 tracks with variable step length (1–16), 4 variations (A/B/C/D) chainable to 64 steps per pattern; a project holds 128 patterns. Recording modes: real-time and step. I/O: stereo line in/out, headphone output, USB-C (audio interface + sample transfer + firmware), DIN MIDI IN/OUT, sync, built-in speaker.
