Solton IP 8 is a passive two-way fullrange loudspeaker in a trapezoidal 15 mm birch plywood enclosure, designed for professional fixed installations and portable PA applications. At 263 x 423 x 240 mm and 8.5 kg it is a one-person cabinet in any configuration — on a speaker stand, the dual-axis WB 1 wall bracket, a suspension ring or a floor-monitor position. Seven M8 inserts and a pole-mount socket cover every mounting scenario without additional adapters.
8" aaCRAAFT and 1.35" compression driver — passive fullrange without outboard processing
The 8" aaCRAAFT driver on a 2" voice coil handles the MF/LF range, while the 1.35" voice coil, 1" exit HF compression driver covers the top end to 20 kHz (-10 dB). The passive 2.7 kHz crossover with PTC driver protection divides the band precisely and protects the HF driver under overload without external limiters. The 90° x 60° constant-directivity horn rotates by hand between vertical and horizontal orientation without tools — relevant for wall-bracket installations at non-standard angles. The 8 Ω nominal impedance and two NL4 connectors (pins 1+/1-) support series or parallel wiring of multiple cabinets depending on amplifier configuration. Recommended amplifiers are the QX 700 and DX 43; recommended subwoofer is the aart SUB 315. A transport cover is available as art. 12633; the WB 1 dual-axis wall bracket as art. 12521.
Fixed installation and portable PA — one cabinet, two environments
The IP 8 was designed for restaurants, bars, nightclubs and conference rooms where the cabinet needs to look discreet and run reliably for years without adjustment. The trapezoidal enclosure with polyurea coating handles moisture, impact and cleaning chemicals. In portable PA use the IP 8 operates as a standalone fullrange speaker or as an MF/HF top in a 2.1 or stereo system with the aart SUB 315. The Slim Line series to which the IP 8 belongs combines installation aesthetics with PA-class acoustic parameters — unobtrusive in the room design, audible from every seat.
