Solton A 118 Sub

Solton A 118 Sub is a single ground-stackable 18-inch direct-radiating subwoofer, built to extend the low end of mid-high and fullrange systems in both mobile and installed applications. A long-excursion driver with a 4-inch voice coil handles 1000 W continuous and 4000 W peak power, reaching a maximum peak SPL of 138 dB at one meter. A compact bass-reflex enclosure made of 15 mm birch plywood keeps the footprint manageable on tighter stages without sacrificing low-end reach.

Bass Support for a Point-Source Rig

An integrated M20 pole socket lets a distance pole with a mid-high cabinet mount directly on top of the subwoofer, building a complete, portable point-source system without a separate speaker stand. The crossover between the subwoofer and the top box is handled digitally, making it straightforward to dial in the exact handoff point for the specific MF/HF cabinet running above. A 35-180 Hz response within 3 dB and an operating range down to 31 Hz at -10 dB give a solid low-frequency foundation without reaching into the vocal range.

Easy Handling On Stage and On the Road

Two rear-panel NL4 Speakon connectors, marked as signal input and parallel output, make it fast to link additional cabinets into the system without extra splitters. Two integrated handles and the built-in mounting for a 100 mm wheel set make the 43 kg cabinet easier to move during frequent load-in and load-out. A perforated steel grille backed with acoustically transparent foam protects the driver from mechanical damage during transport and on stage.
