Rode RODECaster Video Core is a compact production console that puts a video switcher and a full audio mixer in the same box. It handles up to four video sources and up to nine stereo audio channels, records them independently and pushes the finished production straight to a streaming platform over Ethernet. Control runs through the RODECaster app, which is why the unit takes up so little desk space.
Multi-camera podcasts without a dedicated vision mixer
Shooting a conversation on two or three cameras normally means cutting angles by hand and then wrangling separate video files against separate audio afterwards. Video Core switches angles automatically based on who is speaking, so the recording already has a usable edit by the time the session ends. Three Full HD HDMI inputs with automatic frame rate conversion take cameras and consoles, a USB-C port accepts a webcam or capture card, and NDI inputs over Ethernet handle network cameras including PTZ control. Five configurable scenes with picture-in-picture and split-screen layouts are built in advance and recalled with a single press.
Audio that ships, rather than audio you rescue in post
Two Neutrik combo sockets with Revolution Preamps take XLR microphones and 1/4 inch instruments with enough clean gain for ribbon and dynamic mics. Every channel carries APHEX processing: EQ, compressor, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser plus Aural Exciter, Big Bottom and Compellor. ISO recording captures each video and audio source separately to a USB drive, and EDL export carries cut points, transitions and graphics directly into DaVinci Resolve. RODECaster Sync ties the Video Core to a RODECaster Pro II or Duo so the pair behaves as one system with shared routing.
