PMC IB2S XBD-AII

PMC IB2S XBD-AII is a 3-way twin-cabinet active reference monitoring system with ATL™ technology, designed for the most demanding mastering and high-end studio environments. Offering extraordinary detail, high SPL capability, and extended low-frequency headroom down to 25 Hz, the system delivers pristine accuracy across the full frequency range.

The system consists of a main monitor with a dedicated XBD bass extension cabinet, effectively doubling the low-end capability and adding +3 dB of headroom below 380 Hz. This configuration ensures smooth bass response and better room coverage, making the IB2S XBD-AII suitable for large control rooms or soffit-mounted installations. All drivers are PMC’s proprietary designs, including twin 10” carbon-fibre/Nomex™ piston woofers (from the flagship QB1), a 75 mm soft-dome midrange driver, and a 34 mm soft-dome tweeter with an acoustic radiator.

The system includes discrete external electronics for rack mounting, with Class-D amplification providing 3225 W per channel (LF & LFX 2400 W, MF 550 W, HF 275 W). It features both balanced analogue and AES3 digital inputs (up to 96 kHz), user-adjustable EQ filters, ±8 dB level trim, input sensitivity controls (+4 to +16 dB), and remote configuration via RJ45. The included remote allows control of three user presets, EQ adjustments, and input selection.
