Peluso P-12 is a large-diaphragm tube microphone inspired by the legendary AKG C12, known for an airy, open top end quite different from the dense character of U47 or M49-style mics.
An Airy Top End Instead of a Dense Low End
An edge-terminated 34mm capsule paired with a 6072A tube produces the shimmer in the upper band that defines the C12 sound, making the P-12 well suited to vocals that need space and clarity rather than just warmth.
9 Patterns for Flexible Studio Work
Switchable patterns, from omni to figure-8, let the same mic handle close-up vocal work and room ambience capture alike, while a dedicated output transformer keeps noise low.
An edge-terminated capsule sets it apart structurally from center-terminated models like the P-87 or P-280, and is one of the reasons behind its distinct, more open character.
