Switchable operating modes — from fast peak limiting to smooth RMS compression — plus several starting ratios give the flexibility of a classic VCA design, but a unique Behaviour control shapes the hardness and timing of the compression envelope, changing how the unit reacts to the signal.

EQ and a Sidechain Filter to Control the Low End

A stereo 2-band shelving EQ with a high-shelf presence control and a 50Hz low-cut filter with resonance shape the tone before compression, while a built-in sidechain high-pass filter prevents overreaction to low frequencies — useful on a mix bus carrying heavy bass.

Model 3722 works well as a mix-bus compressor, where both dynamics control and a touch of coloration are needed — something typically transparent VCA designs don't offer.
