Overstayer Stereo Field Effect (Model 3706) is a stereo FET compressor with linked channel control, combining classic, grabby compression with an added harmonics circuit not found in original 1960s designs.
Grabby FET Compression Without Channel Drift
A single, linked control for both channels keeps the stereo image stable even at aggressive settings, and a choice of several compression ratios — from subtle to hard limiting — lets you match the character to vocals, drums, or a full mix.
Harmonics and a Nonlinear Mode as Extra Weapons
A discrete harmonics circuit with a blend control mixes the processed signal with the dry source, while a nonlinear mode adds a more aggressive compression character. An external sidechain loop and transformer-balanced output round out a section built for full tonal control.
Model 3706 targets the classic, grabby FET compression sound known from 1960s and 70s productions, but adds a harmonics circuit and nonlinear mode not found in original designs.
