Overstayer Saturator NT-02A is a harmonics and distortion processor that can either gently warm up a signal or push it into extreme analog saturation — engineer Joe Chiccarelli has praised its results on drum tracks across numerous productions.
From Subtle Warmth to Full Breakdown
A single knob controls the amount of non-linear saturation and soft clipping, letting you move smoothly from barely audible tape-like warmth to aggressive analog saturation without touching any other section's settings.
The Shape 3 Circuit Sculpts the Distortion Character
Switchable high-pass (12dB, 30Hz-4.7kHz with resonance) and low-pass (6dB, fixed at 6kHz) filters let you limit the bandwidth reaching the saturation stage, while the Shape 3 circuit's pre- and post-emphasis filters add third-order harmonics reminiscent of classic tape saturation.
Engineer Joe Chiccarelli, known for his work with The White Stripes and Frank Zappa, has consistently praised the NT-02A on drum tracks across many different productions — not as a one-off effect but a permanent part of his chain.
