Nektar Pacer

Nektar Pacer is a foot controller that handles three worlds at once: the DAW, guitar software and MIDI hardware, and channel and effects switching on an ordinary analogue amplifier. Ten programmable LED-backlit switches in a chassis built for the stage.

Four relays: controlling an amp that has never heard of MIDI

This is the feature people buy a Pacer for. Four switching relays let you plug into the footswitch jack of a valve amplifier and control the channel and effects loop from the same pedalboard you use to recall presets in the computer. An amp from the eighties starts obeying the same command as a plug-in.

Recording without putting the guitar down

Start, stop, punch in and scrubbing by foot mean you do not have to set the instrument aside or ask someone to run transport while you track takes. The Pacer accepts up to four additional footswitches and two expression pedals, so the rig grows with your needs.
