Millennia TCL-2 is a two-channel optical compressor/limiter with two complete signal paths in one chassis: an all-triode 300 V vacuum tube path and a discrete J-FET solid-state path. Both run in pure Class A, without transformers and with only one active stage in the audio chain. A push of a button selects the path.
Tube glue or clean control on the same unit
Use the tube path when a vocal, bass or mix bus needs density and a rounder attack. Switch to the J-FET path when you need faster, cleaner control. The controls cover threshold from infinite to +20 dBu, ratio from 1.4:1 to 30:1, attack from 2 to 100 ms, release from 100 ms to 3 s and continuous output gain.
Headroom for mastering and mix bus
A maximum output of over +32 dBu and a frequency response from below 5 Hz to 100 kHz keep the unit out of the way of the signal when the compression is light.
