Metric Halo MH EdgeCard - MADI (2x Optical) — an EdgeBus expansion card adding two optical MADI ports and 128 channels of I/O to any 3d-based unit.
The card uses the single EdgeBus slot present on every 3d-based unit and brings in two independent MADI links on optical connectors, with full access to the unit's audio clocks and power rails. It's the variant of choice for systems where distance between devices or galvanic isolation matters more than the simplicity of copper cabling.
Long-Distance Fiber Runs Without Losing Sync
MADI over copper has a practical cable-length limit, which complicates work in large facilities where a digital console and a converter rack sit in different rooms. Fiber removes that constraint, carrying 128 channels of I/O over much longer distances without signal degradation and without the susceptibility to electromagnetic interference typical of long copper runs in installations with heavy mains-powered equipment.Galvanic Isolation Between Digital Systems
