Mercury G810 Rack System-I is a ten-slot chassis for 500 series modules with a high-capacity power supply. Every slot gets isolated power and a soft-start circuit limits inrush current at switch-on — the two things budget racks cut corners on most often.
Power decides how your modules sound
A 500 series module is only as good as the current it receives. In a chassis with a shared, weak rail a hungry module can take headroom from its neighbours: the result is squeezed dynamics and raised noise that the module itself does not explain. Isolated channel power solves that structurally, and capacity specified with headroom lets you fill all ten slots, tube modules included.
Chaining modules without a patchbay
Chain switches link adjacent slots directly inside the chassis, so a preamp, an equalizer and a compressor can be strung into one path with a single move, without routing signal out to a patchbay and without three pairs of cables. When you reorder the chain that saves several minutes each time and puts fewer solder joints in the signal path.
