Mackie Thrash212 is a powered PA loudspeaker built around a 12-inch woofer and a 1,300-watt peak Class-D amplifier – the more portable sibling of the Thrash215, aimed at gigging musicians, DJs, and small venues that need serious output without the extra kilos.
The 2-way driver configuration pairs a 12-inch ferrite woofer with a 1-inch titanium compression driver, crossed over at 2.4 kHz (24 dB/oct.). The biamplified system splits 1,000 watts to the LF stage and 300 watts to the HF stage, both Class-D with convection cooling. Maximum peak SPL is 125 dB, frequency response extends from 52 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB). A thermal limiter and peak compression circuit protect the amplifier during extended high-output sets without audible intervention under normal playing conditions.
Same power as the 215 – 2 kg lighter
At 16.5 kg, the Thrash212 delivers the full 1,300-watt amplifier topology of its 15-inch counterpart in a cabinet that's noticeably easier to manage solo. That difference becomes meaningful on every load-in and out, especially for performers running their own PA without crew. The reinforced polypropylene enclosure with powder-coated steel grille handles regular van-floor contact, and four recessed carry handles make every grip position comfortable regardless of how the cabinet is oriented.
Mic, line, and Hi-Z on both channels – no DI needed
Both XLR/TRS combo inputs accept microphone, balanced line, and Hi-Z instrument signals, allowing a guitarist or bassist to connect directly without a DI box. Each channel has a single gain control with a detented unity position – the entire signal path in one knob. The balanced XLR Mix Out carries the combined signal from both channels to a subwoofer, additional speaker, or recording device. The dual-bevel enclosure converts the Thrash212 into a 45-degree floor monitor without any additional accessories.
