Mackie iP-12 – a passive 2-way installation loudspeaker from the iP Series, designed for permanent fixed live sound installs. 12" low-frequency driver with 2.5" voice coil, 1.4" titanium compression driver, 250 W RMS nominal power, 4 Ω impedance, rotatable 90° × 50° horn.
The iP-12 is purpose-built for demanding permanent installs: houses of worship, theatres, conference venues, clubs and event spaces where audio performance, visual integration and long-term reliability all need to hold up simultaneously. The 15 mm poplar cabinet provides mechanical stability and acoustic consistency, while the rotatable 90° × 50° horn lets the installer dial in precise coverage for both vertical and horizontal hangs without physically rotating the entire enclosure.
Install flexibility built into the hardware
Eight M10 rigging points allow the iP-12 to be flown vertically or horizontally with full control over the acoustic coverage angle. The rotatable Mackie logo maintains correct visual orientation regardless of mounting position – a detail that matters in aesthetically demanding venues. Optional accessories include the iP-CM100 ceiling mount and iP-WM100 wall mount for applications where rigging is not an option. For installs requiring additional low-end reach and output, the companion iP-18S 18" subwoofer extends system coverage into the sub-bass range.
Wiring and system integration
Dual parallel Neutrik speakON connectors allow daisy-chaining multiple cabinets in a single run without external splitters – standard practice in multi-zone permanent installs. The terminal strip on the rear panel speeds up cabling in confined or hard-to-reach mounting locations. For more complex systems, the optional SP60 speaker processor ships with dedicated iP-12 presets for fast calibration and optimal driver protection across the full signal chain.
