More channels without a compromise in tone
The circuit is identical to the one in the Satur-8/24, discrete solid-state saturation referencing the sound of old tube consoles and reel-to-reel tape. That means the eight extra channels do not differ in character from the main unit, so the whole summing chain stays consistent no matter how many channels actually run through saturation.
Flexible placement in the signal chain
The Satur-8 EX connects to insert points on analog mixers and summing units, or patches in between preamps and AD/DA converters, so it works outside a summing context too, as a dedicated tone processor for any channel group in the studio.
