KORG volca sample2 is a new generation digital sample sequencer with 200 sample slots, 10 parts and a USB port for your computer. The memory is 8 MB, or 130 seconds, and it ships with 150 samples made by KORG and MSXII Sound Design. Play it in our Warsaw showroom.
Your own samples without a memory swap
The predecessor held around 100 samples, and every change of the set meant sending audio in through the audio input. In the sample2 the slots are twice as many, 50 of them are empty and waiting for your sounds, and all of them can be overwritten. Over USB you connect the unit to a Mac or PC, manage samples in the Librarian software, and also control the sequencer and play from a DAW. Free sample packs from Moe Shop and TORIENA are available.
Ten parts and a sequencer for loops
The ten parts each have their own MIDI channel, so you play drums, loops and effects from one box. The sequencer has 16 steps and 16 pattern memories (1 to 10 factory), a chain mode with two STEP JUMP modes and a start delay function. The analogue isolator with bass and treble controls and the digital reverb with a mix control shape the sound, and Motion Sequence records knob movements. The built-in speaker, headphone output and six AA batteries give around 10 hours of play.
