Transformer Weight and Massive Gain
Modern built-in interface preamps often suffer from clinical sterility and lack the power required to drive gain-hungry microphones. The 32Cpre+ solves this by offering a robust 70 dB of clean, uncolored gain, making it an ideal match for low-output passive ribbon and dynamic microphones. The integration of the Jensen transformer inherently smooths out harsh transients and imparts a subtle, analog weight to the signal. This provides vocals and acoustic instruments with a physical depth and richness before hitting any downstream processing.
Source Sculpting with 32C Filters
Attempting to remove low-end rumble or high-frequency hiss "in the box" can often introduce unwanted phase artifacts. To mitigate this, Harrison included their signature 12 dB/octave High-Pass and Low-Pass filters, lifted directly from the 32C desk. These highly musical, asymmetrical filters allow tracking engineers to sculpt and clean the source material hardware-side, optimizing the signal before A/D conversion. Combined with the front-panel Combo jack and dedicated Hi-Z switch, the unit also serves as a world-class DI box for bass guitars and synthesizers, ensuring maximum punch and clarity.
