H2 Audio 5011

H2 Audio 5011 takes the equalizer section of the Helios 0011 module into 500 series format. The circuit is inductor-based like the original, with a transformer-balanced output stage driven by its own amplifier.

Asymmetric ranges, because they work better

The mid band boosts up to 16 dB but cuts as far as 17.5 dB, and that is not an oversight. The extra cut depth lets you pull excess out of a guitar or snare around 1-3 kHz more decisively than a symmetrical parametric would, while keeping the gentle slope of the inductor filter.

Low end shaped at two independent points

Bass boosts at 60, 100, 200 or 300 Hz by up to 15 dB, while the cut works separately at 50 Hz over a 3 to 15 dB range. A kick drum can gain weight around 60 Hz and lose floor rumble underneath it at the same time, which a single band cannot do. The top is a fixed 10 kHz shelf with 10 dB of range. The module occupies one 500 series slot and draws its power from the rack.
