Grace Design m108 Dante Option is an expansion module adding Dante connectivity to the Grace Design m108 eight-channel microphone preamp with A/D conversion. The card installs in the option slot and provides eight channels of network audio to other Dante devices at sample rates up to 192 kHz, integrating the m108 into a modern audio-over-IP system in the studio, on stage, in broadcast and in installations.

Eight Grace Design channels on a Dante network

An engineer working in an audio-over-IP system needs to bring high-quality preamps onto the network without extra converters and analog cabling. Built around the Brooklyn II card, the module connects the transparent, transformerless m108 preamps directly to the Dante network, eliminating separate analog runs between the preamp and the DAW interface. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports (Primary and Secondary) allow full redundant network operation, which matters directly in live broadcast where a single link failure cannot interrupt the signal.

Stable clocking and a flexible clock architecture

An unstable clock on a digital network causes jitter and A/D conversion distortion. The Brooklyn II card provides fast synchronisation, low jitter and ultra-low latency, working with the m108's s-Lock PLL, which locks to the Dante network clock. Four clock architecture modes let the module operate as network master or slave, suiting the m108 to both the role of system master clock and slave to an external word clock synchronised with the network.
