Grace Design m108 Dante is an eight-channel, remote-controlled microphone preamp with A/D conversion, factory-fitted with the Dante network module. It combines eight channels of transparent, transformerless trans-impedance preamplification and A/D conversion up to 192 kHz with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, bringing high-grade preamps straight into a modern audio-over-IP network in a 1U chassis.
Transparent capture on a Dante network
An engineer working in an audio-over-IP system needs to bring high-quality preamps onto the network without extra converters and analog cabling. The m108 Dante connects the transformerless trans-impedance path directly to the network, eliminating separate runs between the preamp and the DAW interface. Eight channels of network audio reach any Dante devices at sample rates up to 192 kHz, with the clarity and depth characteristic of Grace Design preamps.
Redundancy and stable clocking
In live broadcast a single link failure cannot interrupt the signal. Built around the Brooklyn II card, the module has two Gigabit Ethernet ports (Primary and Secondary), enabling full redundant network operation. Fast synchronisation, low jitter and ultra-low latency working with the m108's s-Lock PLL provide a clean sample clock, and four clock architecture modes let the module operate as network master or slave, suiting the m108 to the role of system master or slave clock.
