Grace Design BiX is a studio-quality preamp, EQ and DI for acoustic instruments in a compact, floor-based chassis. Inheriting the signal path of the larger FELiX and AliX models, the BiX offers the same crystal-clear, low-noise sound in a streamlined, pedalboard-friendly format ready for both an intimate gig and a large stage.
Faithful acoustic instrument sound
A typical preamp in an acoustic guitar often sounds thin and piezo-like once plugged into a PA. The BiX runs on an internal voltage above 30 V, providing huge dynamic headroom and natural, open highs with a strong, tight bass. The 10 MΩ instrument input impedance does not load down piezo pickups, so the dynamics and character of the instrument are preserved and the signal reaches the stage with realism close to miking.
A complete signal path on stage and in the studio
Playing live, a musician needs EQ, a solo boost and a clean signal to FOH without carrying a rack. The BiX integrates this into one pedal: a High and Low shelving EQ with DIP switches selecting two transition frequencies, a variable boost up to 10 dB and Mute and Boost footswitches. An FX loop with separate send and return jacks, an unbalanced line output to a stage monitor and a transformer balanced ISO DI output on XLR cover both stage and session needs.
