Grace Design AliX-BK is a single-channel preamp, EQ, DI and boost for acoustic instruments in a rugged, floor-based chassis in black. Based on the studio m101 preamp path, the AliX brings that same audio quality to the stage, combining an extensive EQ, switchable input impedance and a transformer ISO DI output in one complete tool for the demanding instrumentalist.
Full control over the tone of a pickup-equipped instrument
Every pickup system — piezo, contact, magnetic or active — has different impedance requirements, and a mismatch robs the instrument of its naturalness. The AliX has a 3-position input impedance switch (330 kΩ, 1 MΩ, 10 MΩ) matching the preamp to a specific pickup. An extensive EQ with Low and High shelving bands and a fully parametric mid (70 Hz to 8 kHz, Q control) plus a high-pass filter with notch mode let you precisely tame feedback and match the sound to the room's acoustics.
Ready for the stage and the pedalboard
Playing live, a musician needs a clean signal to FOH, a solo boost and simple operation in the dark. The AliX integrates this into one pedal: a transformer isolated DI output with low noise, a separate level-controlled amp output, a dedicated tuner output active when muted, and Mute/Tune and Boost footswitches with a variable boost up to 10 dB. A 9 V DC / 500 mA power output lets you power a tuner and effects directly from the AliX, and a universal 100-240 V supply with an IEC cable works worldwide.
