Focusrite ISA ADN8 — an optional eight-channel A-D card for the ISA 428 MkII and ISA 828 MkII preamps, bringing the classic Focusrite signal path with its Lundahl transformer directly onto Dante, AES3 and ADAT at the same time.
The card operates at sample rates up to 24-bit/192 kHz and outputs three formats simultaneously: two RJ45 Dante ports (primary/secondary), a DB25 connector wired to the AES59 standard for AES3, and two TOSLINK ports for ADAT. BNC Word Clock I/O syncs the unit to an external clock or the Dante network clock, and routing and configuration happen remotely, with no physical patchbay involved.
Console-grade ISA preamps brought directly onto Dante
ISA ADN8 turns an ISA 428 MkII or ISA 828 MkII into a fully-fledged Dante device, appearing on the network alongside RedNet and Red interfaces — with no external converter and none of the character lost from the Lundahl LL1538 transformer-based preamps. Eight preamp channels reach any room in the building connected to the same network, letting a studio keep its prized preamps in one place while any control room or stage can draw on them.
Output flexibility: Dante, AES3 and ADAT at the same time
The AES3 output on DB25 AES59 handles eight channels simultaneously, and two TOSLINK ADAT ports give eight channels at 96 kHz or four at 192 kHz — without giving up Dante at the same time if the console or interface on the other end doesn't speak audio-over-IP. Redundant Dante ports with automatic failover protect against signal interruption in critical installations, and remote control and metering through RedNet Control give full visibility into the card's status without walking over to the rack.
