Elektron Outbox 8 — a USB multi-output interface for Overbridge-compatible Elektron hardware, splitting a single audio stream into eight independent, balanced 1/4" outputs. 48kHz/32-bit D/A converters and DC-coupled outputs carry both audio and CV/Gate, each configurable individually from the connected device.
Eight balanced mono outputs — or up to four stereo pairs when outputs are paired — give access to separate buses instead of the single summed stereo mix classic Elektron gear is limited to. A new menu on the host device lets you assign any track or group to a specific output — kick on output one, hi-hats on two, a resampled chord stab on three — without extra internal cabling. Outbox 8's output latency stays identical to the connected device's internal stereo output, eliminating phase offset when recording both simultaneously.
Separate signal buses instead of one summed mix
An engineer working with a Digitakt II, Digitone II, or Syntakt was previously limited to a single stereo output, making it impossible to send a separate drum, bass, or pad bus to an external compressor or EQ without extra gear. Outbox 8 solves this directly — eight separate outputs let you route instrument groups to different processors at once, without bouncing tracks separately on a computer.
Modular integration via CV/Gate without an extra converter
Each of the eight DC-coupled outputs can function as CV or Gate instead of audio, letting a sequence from a Syntakt or Analog Rytm drive a Eurorack modular system directly from the same unit that's simultaneously feeding the stereo mix. This removes the need for a separate MIDI-to-CV converter when pairing Elektron gear with a modular rig.
