D-BOX+ is a ground-up rebuild of the award-winning original, combining eight-channel analog summing (channels 7 and 8 switchable to mono) with five input sources, two independent headphone amplifiers, and three speaker outputs. A digitally controlled volume knob with precise L/R matching and adjustable dim ties it all into one monitoring hub, functioning much like the center section of a large console.
Five input sources in one control hub
One button switches between analog stereo, the internal eight-channel sum, USB, AES/SPDIF, and a Bluetooth stream from any mobile device — the last one is handy for quickly auditioning a reference track from a phone without hunting for a cable. A free app for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android mirrors the front panel: volume, dim, talkback, and input selection can be handled from a tablet next to the keyboard, and talkback can even be triggered from a smartphone over Bluetooth. USB runs driverless on macOS and needs only a simple driver install on Windows.
Analog summing with an independently tuned monitoring section
The summing section, the Selected Line output, and the USB/AES converters each carry separately published specifications — every stage optimized for its own job, so the mix coming off eight channels doesn't share a circuit with the monitoring path, which keeps crosstalk down and noise low on both paths at once. Two independent headphone amplifiers with separate source and level selection let an engineer and an artist listen to different mixes in parallel, and three independently programmable speaker outputs can be configured with a mono option and a dedicated subwoofer. When eight channels of summing aren't enough, D-BOX+ expands with an external 2-BUS+ or 2-BUS-XT without changing any of its other functions.
