Austrian Audio OC818 Dual Set Plus is the most complete stereo set in the OC818 family: two large-diaphragm condensers with CKR12 capsules, a full accessory kit for each and a stereo bar, all in a rugged carrying case. It is the configuration aimed at stereo recording where repeatable microphone placement is what matters.

Stereo techniques without improvising on stands

Setting up XY, ORTF or Blumlein on two separate stands usually ends with a skewed image and differences between takes that cannot be reproduced the next day. The SB1 stereo bar in the set fixes that physically: angle and spacing are set once and returned to on the next session. With two microphones carrying a second diaphragm output there is also an option no conventional pair offers: record four tracks and configure the stereo technique afterwards in post, inside PolarDesigner or StereoCreator.

A pair equipped for every position in the studio

Each microphone comes with an OCS8 shock mount, OCH8 clip, OCC8 cable and OCW8 windscreen, so nothing else needs buying before the pair goes over a drum kit, in front of a piano or into a room position. The CKR12 capsule with 9 dB self-noise handles quiet acoustic sources, while 158 dB SPL with the pad engaged lets the same microphones work as overheads on loud material. The three-position high-pass filter tidies the low end before conversion.
