Configurer
Audient iD14 MKII + SONY MDR-7506 + RODE NT1 is a bundle found in the equipment riders of major broadcast stations and recording studios worldwide. At its core is the Audient iD14 MKII interface, featuring not one, but two Audient Console Mic Preamps—the exact same discrete circuit design found in their large-format consoles. These provide classic analogue warmth, while class-leading converters (125.5 dB dynamic range) ensure every detail of your recording is captured with surgical precision. Moreover, being fully powered via USB 3.0, it serves as a powerful yet mobile command centre.
Monitoring is handled by an absolute classic—the SONY MDR-7506 headphones. An industry standard for decades, they are revered for their reliability and distinctive, bright sound signature that ruthlessly reveals any imperfections in a mix. With their low impedance (63 Ohms) and closed-back design, they pair perfectly with Audient's powerful dual headphone output, delivering loud, isolated monitoring with zero bleed into the microphone. Their foldable design and coiled cable are synonymous with comfort and durability.
Completing the setup is the RODE NT1 (XLR version), renowned as one of the world's quietest studio microphones (self-noise of just 4.5 dBA). Its HF6 capsule delivers a sonic signature reminiscent of vintage microphones—with smooth highs and warm lows, but without excessive colouration. Paired with the Audient preamps, this bundle creates an ideal vocal chain suitable for voiceovers, singing, and acoustic instrument recording alike.
