Apollo x8 with UAD Analog Classics — an 18x24 rackmount Thunderbolt audio interface with four Unison preamps, eight line inputs, and a UAD-2 HEXA Core processor, bundled with the Analog Classics plugin collection. The flagship rackmount model, built for commercial studios and productions requiring surround support up to 7.1.
Gen 2 Elite-Class AD/DA conversion reaches 130dB of dynamic range with THD at -127dB, using dual-crystal clocking to keep jitter low at every sample rate. Four Unison inputs plus two front-panel Hi-Z inputs let you record a full rhythm section or vocal group at once, each voice through a different preamp emulation — Neve, API, Manley, or Avalon.
Eight line inputs for a permanent outboard setup
In a large studio with a substantial rack of compressors, tube EQs, and hardware synths, switching sources through a limited number of inputs becomes a bottleneck. Apollo x8's eight additional 1/4" line inputs let you keep the whole outboard rig patched in permanently, with routing ready between sessions, while a BNC wordclock port syncs the interface to an external clock generator in larger studio setups.
Post-production and spatial mixing in one unit
Eight line outputs configurable as ALT or a full surround system up to 7.1 with bass management let you mix a film soundtrack or immersive content directly from the Apollo x8, without an additional multichannel processor. The HEXA Core processor handles UAD plugins independent of the DAW's buffer, keeping latency low even with a large number of simultaneous channels.
