Apollo Twin X QUAD with UAD Analog Classics — a 10x6 desktop Thunderbolt audio interface with two Unison mic preamps and a UAD-2 QUAD Core processor, offering twice the real-time plug-in processing power of the DUO version, bundled with the Analog Classics plugin collection.
Elite-Class AD/DA conversion runs at 24-bit/192kHz, and the two XLR/TRS combo inputs plus a 1/4" Hi-Z input use Unison technology, matching impedance and gain structure to the analog hardware being modeled — so the emulated preamp behaves electrically like the original at the point the signal enters. Four DSP chips in the QUAD Core processor allow far more simultaneous plugin instances than DUO Core, without falling back on the computer's native CPU processing.
A deeper plugin chain without loading the computer's CPU
On a session with multiple vocal tracks or a full drum kit, DUO Core quickly hits its limit on simultaneous real-time compression, EQ, and reverb instances. QUAD Core doubles that capacity, letting a full processing chain run on every channel being tracked at once — useful in band sessions, where each performer needs their own fully processed monitor mix.
Tracking through preamp character without the delay
Unison combined with DSP that runs independent of the DAW's buffer lets you hear (and record) the character of an LA-2A, 1176, or UA 610 preamp during tracking itself, at under 2ms of latency regardless of buffer settings or session load.
