Microphone Stands and Accessories – What You Actually Need

Microphone Stands and Accessories – What You Actually Need

A microphone can't record on its own — it needs something to hold it steady, isolate it from vibration, and stop it from picking up every gust of breath. This collection covers stands, desk arms, pop filters, shock mounts and holders for studio and stage mics.

Floor stand, boom or desk arm

A boom stand gives you the most freedom for positioning a mic over an instrument or in front of a standing vocalist — see Gravity MS TBA 01. At a desk, a clamp-on arm wins instead: it doesn't take up floor space and doesn't pick up footsteps. RODE PSA1+ is the model we sell the most of.

Pop filter and shock mount

A pop filter scatters the blast of air on plosive p and b sounds — without one, even the best condenser mic will print pops that no EQ can undo cleanly afterward. A shock mount isolates structure-borne vibration from the floor or desk. For vocals we recommend JZ Microphones Pop Filter paired with a JZ Microphones Vintage Shock Mount.

The brands we carry

We stock accessories from JZ Microphones, sE Electronics, RODE and Gravity — from budget stands to rigs built to survive years on the road.

Hear it in our Warsaw showroom

The biggest difference between us and a mail-order shop: you can hear the gear before you buy it. Our showroom at Nowogrodzka 6A/102 in Warsaw is there so you can try it on your own material, not a shop demo. Book a visit or just swing by — we'll help without the sales pitch. FAQ

Is a pop filter really necessary?

For close-mic'd vocals, yes. A blast of air on a plosive consonant can't be fixed cleanly in the mix afterward, and a pop filter costs a fraction of the microphone it's protecting.

Desk arm or floor stand?

For podcasting and streaming at a desk — an arm: it stays out of the way and doesn't pick up footsteps. For standing vocals and miking instruments — a boom stand.

Does a shock mount actually make a difference?

Yes, if the mic sits on a desk or on a floor with a suspended wooden structure underneath. It cuts vibration that would otherwise reach the capsule directly.
