At Superbooth 2025, a true classic comes back to life – the PPG 1002, one of the last fully analog synthesizers from PPG, has been faithfully recreated by Wolfgang Palm himself in collaboration with Cornel Hecht. It’s a remarkable event for fans of vintage electronic instruments.
The Return of a 1970s Legend
The original PPG 1002 was a rare, fully analog synthesizer featuring two oscillators, a classic 24 dB/oct 4-pole filter, and a minimal, elegant design. The new edition faithfully replicates the architecture of the original, while adding modern features such as MIDI, velocity sensitivity, expanded waveforms, and oscillator sync options.
Modern Enhancements, Analog Soul
Oscillator 2 can function as a sub-oscillator and now includes an additional square waveform and sync capability. The built-in noise generator can be used for both audio and modulation purposes, and it can be swapped out for a ring modulator. The LFO features two waveform options and switchable modulation routings, echoing the flexibility of modular systems. The power supply has been upgraded to a precision, low-noise design.

CV/Gate Connectivity – No Keyboard Required
This synthesizer doesn’t include a keyboard, but it provides full CV/Gate support. The front panel remains true to the original’s clean and functional layout. With fewer than 100 original PPG 1002 units ever produced, this modern reissue is a true gem for collectors and analog enthusiasts.
Available Soon at Wired Tunes
PPG 1002 will soon be available at Wired Tunes. If you’ve been waiting to hear the true analog sound of the ’70s – crafted by the legendary founder of PPG – this is your moment.
