Audiotales Equidal

Audiotales Equidal is a fully passive exciter and enhancer built around eight high-grade audio transformers. The unit has no power supply and no active stages, yet it loses no level at the output.

Two core types, one control

The signal path carries both toroidal-core and amorphous-core transformers, whose saturation characters differ clearly. The Balance control crossfades between them, so instead of choosing between two boxes at purchase time you choose the character while working on the material in front of you.

Summing and M/S processing in one box

Equidal includes a passive summing section for six channels, meaning three stereo pairs, plus mid/side processing with a dedicated M/S insert on the rear panel. That lets you patch a compressor into the mid channel alone, or equalize only the sides, without building a separate matrix into the studio. The passive design gives high headroom and a very low noise floor, and every control is detented, so a session setting returns exactly.
