Audio Mixers – Which One for Studio and Stage

Audio Mixers – Which One for Studio and Stage

A mixer brings every source into one place and puts hands on the signal — no mouse required. This collection covers analog and digital mixers, compact tables for stage and DJ use, podcast consoles, and DAW controllers that take over the mixer's job in an all-computer studio.

Analog, digital or DAW controller

An analog mixer is predictable and never needs an update — you plug in and play. A digital mixer gives you recallable scenes, EQ on every channel and remote control from a tablet, which changes everything on stage. If you're mixing inside the computer, your real mixer is a DAW controller with motorized faders — SSL UF8 or the smaller SSL UF1 both put physical hands back on the session.

Where to start

For streaming and podcasting, PreSonus StudioLive AR16c is where most people start — built-in USB interface, phantom power and a separate headphone mix per guest. For the club and DJ booth, Ecler NUO 4.0F is the one we reach for.

The brands we carry

In this category we work with SSL, PreSonus, Mackie and API Audio.

Hear it in our Warsaw showroom

The biggest difference between us and a mail-order shop: you can hear the gear before you buy it. Our showroom at Nowogrodzka 6A/102 in Warsaw is there so you can try it on your own material, not a shop demo. Book a visit or just swing by — we'll help without the sales pitch. FAQ

Mixer or audio interface for recording?

For multitrack recording into a computer, an audio interface. A mixer earns its place when the signal has to be summed on the spot — on stage, in a podcast, or when playing live.

Which mixer for podcasting?

One with a built-in USB interface, phantom power for condenser mics, and a separate headphone mix for every guest at the table.

Can a DAW controller replace a mixer?

In an all-computer studio, yes — it gives you physical faders and transport while the signal stays entirely in the box. It won't replace a mixer where inputs actually need to be summed.
