Apollo X Gen 2 with a free Sphere microphone: offer runs to year end
A free microphone with an interface sounds like the line in the small print that ruins everything. This time the small print is short and honest. Until 31 December 2026, or while stocks last, a rackmount Apollo X Gen 2 with a selected UAD bundle comes with a UA Sphere modeling microphone.
Which Sphere depends on the bundle. Below is what pairs with what, what it costs and what the offer does not cover.
The short version. Apollo x6, x8, x8p or x16 with UAD Analog Classics includes a Sphere LX. Apollo x6, x8 and x8p with Analog Classics Pro, or the x16 with UAD Complete, include a Sphere DLX. The offer runs from 15 October to 31 December 2026, or while stocks last.
What comes with what
The rule is simple: the bigger the UAD plugin bundle in the box, the better the microphone that comes with it. Every bundle below is a rackmount Apollo X Gen 2, from the same four families: x6, x8, x8p and x16.
| Bundle | Price | Included free |
|---|---|---|
| Apollo x6 with UAD Analog Classics | €2,205 | Sphere LX |
| Apollo x8 with UAD Analog Classics | €2,630 | Sphere LX |
| Apollo x8p with UAD Analog Classics | €3,248 | Sphere LX |
| Apollo x16 with UAD Analog Classics | €3,617 | Sphere LX |
| Apollo x6 with UAD Analog Classics Pro | €2,395 | Sphere DLX |
| Apollo x8 with UAD Analog Classics Pro | €2,794 | Sphere DLX |
| Apollo x8p with UAD Analog Classics Pro | €3,382 | Sphere DLX |
| Apollo x16 with UAD Complete | €4,778 | Sphere DLX |
For scale: in our shop the Sphere LX costs €953 and the Sphere DLX costs €1,419. So the extra is not a token gesture. Check the product page for the current bundle price, because that is the one that counts.
Why a modeling microphone next to a UA interface
Sphere gives you a wide range of microphone characters from one microphone, chosen as a plugin inside your session. You swap models instead of buying another stand and clearing another shelf. It saves floor space and, as the manufacturer likes to put it, your bank balance.
Two honest notes. A modeled microphone does not fix a room: record in an empty, boomy space and you get the boomy room in several flavours. And the interface only makes sense if you need its preamps and conversion in the first place. When a better preamp really matters, we wrote about it separately.
What the offer does not cover
- Rackmount Apollo X Gen 2 only: x6, x8, x8p and x16, in the bundles above. The Apollo x16D and other models are not part of this list.
- Quantities are limited. The offer ends on 31 December 2026, or sooner if stocks run out.
- Ask us how the microphone is handled before you order. Details are best confirmed first, not after.
If you are still choosing an interface and are not sure Thunderbolt and a rack are the right level, start with our guide to choosing an audio interface. Sometimes the right answer is a smaller box, and we will say so.
