Maximum Headroom via 50V Architecture

Driving power-hungry planar magnetic transducers or high-impedance dynamic studio headphones can often push smaller tracking amplifiers into early compression and artifacting. The V222 circumvents this dynamic bottleneck entirely by utilizing a 50 V internal operating voltage rail. This high-voltage architecture yields an immense headroom margin, capable of generating 23 V RMS into 600 Ohms and pushing up to 3500 mW into a 50-Ohm load. Consequently, rapid transients and dynamic peaks remain uncompressed, while the high damping factor exercises strict mechanical control over the drivers, resulting in a surgically tight and fast low-end response.

Pre-Gain Matching and ALPS Accuracy

Alternating between inefficient open-back mastering headphones and hyper-sensitive in-ear monitors (IEMs) usually exposes a noticeable, compromising noise floor. The V222 mitigates this through a rear-mounted hardware Pre-Gain system, allowing engineers to physically adjust the internal sensitivity of the circuit across 7 precise stages (ranging from -18 dB to +18 dB). This completely eradicates background hiss. Output attenuation is seamlessly managed by a premium ALPS RK27 potentiometer, providing a tactile, linear feel and flawless left/right channel tracking—an essential trait for accurately assessing panning and stereo width during a session.
