Solton aart T 8 is a passive two-way fullrange loudspeaker in a trapezoidal 15 mm birch plywood enclosure, designed for professional portable PA and permanent installation. At 8.5 kg and 263 x 423 x 240 mm the cabinet occupies minimal space, and the M20 pole socket combined with seven M8 inserts covers every mounting scenario — speaker stand, pole-on-sub, WB 1 wall bracket or fly frame — without additional adapters.
8" aaCRAAFT driver and 1.35" compression driver with passive crossover
The 8" aaCRAAFT driver on a 2" voice coil handles the MF/LF range, delivering 95 dB sensitivity at 1 W/1 m and a maximum SPL of 118 dB continuous / 124 dB peak. The 1.35" voice coil, 1" exit HF compression driver covers the high end, with the 2.7 kHz passive crossover handling the split. PTC driver protection provides soft current limiting under overload conditions — the thermistor reduces drive before permanent voice coil damage occurs rather than burning out a fuse or the driver itself. The 90° x 60° horn rotates by hand, switching between vertical and horizontal cabinet orientation without tools, which matters when wall-mounting at non-standard angles. A single NL4 connector (pins 1+/1-) makes daisy-chaining multiple cabinets from a single amplifier output or from the satellite outputs of the aart SUB 315 straightforward.
Passive satellite for ACT SAT and SUB 315 systems
The aart T 8 is the designated satellite for the ACT SAT bundle, where two cabinets are driven by the three-channel aart SUB 315 amplifier's built-in satellite channels (2x 350 W / 4 Ω). The passive topology eliminates delay alignment issues between active stages and keeps stage cabling simple — one NL4 per cabinet, no mains connection, no separate DSP. The same cabinet works as a standalone fullrange speaker for light-duty speech and background music applications with any external 4 Ω amplifier.
