Sessiondesk SBX core

Sessiondesk SBX core is a modular broadband absorber from the SessionbloX system, built for control rooms, vocal booths, voice-over spaces and project studios. The 108 x 72 x 12 cm panel pairs a birch plywood frame in the 90s black finish with a 100% natural wood fibre interior and a fire-rated PET facing made from at least 60% recycled bottles. It sits in the studio acoustics category and works freestanding, upright or on its side, so the treatment moves when the room does.

Low end you can trust in a small control room

In a room of domestic proportions the problem is rarely the top end. It is a swollen, smeared bottom octave that makes bass and kick decisions fall apart on every other system. SBX core is a multilayer construction: freestanding it works down to around 100 Hz, and placed back to back as a pair it reaches into the 50 Hz region. That is the range where foam and thin mineral wool panels of comparable size stop showing up in a measurement.

Reconfigure it without tools or wall anchors

Modules lock together with the x-connectors supplied with the panel: blocks slot into one another with no screwdriver, no adhesive and nothing drilled into the wall. The same parts become a corner trap, a screen behind the microphone, a wheeled gobo or a cloud above the desk, and they come apart again when the studio layout changes. In a rented room, that is the difference between acoustic treatment and a renovation.
