RODE DS1 is an all-metal desktop microphone stand with a heavy base and height adjustment from 260 to 405 mm. It was made for podcasting, radio, streaming and the home studio, wherever a microphone sits on a desk next to the monitor and keyboard. Check it out in our Warsaw showroom.
The microphone at mouth height, not on the desk
A microphone resting on the desk picks up keyboard knocks and reflections off the tabletop, and one set too high loses the proximity that a good voice depends on. The DS1 raises it to 405 mm and lowers it to 260 mm, so you place the capsule at your mouth whether you sit or record standing at a raised desk. The heavy base keeps the stand put when you change the angle, and the all-metal build is made for everyday work in radio, broadcast and the studio.
A 3/8 inch thread and what is in the box
The stand has a 3/8 inch thread. Most microphone clips use a 5/8 inch thread, so before you buy check whether your clip or microphone fits, or add a 3/8 to 5/8 inch adapter. The package contains the DS1 stand alone, and it weighs 980 g.
