PMC Prophecy 9 Blackened Walnut is the flagship floorstanding loudspeaker of the prophecy series, a 3-way design with four drivers: two 5 inch woofers, a 55 mm midrange and a 27 mm soft dome tweeter. Deep bass from a speaker that fits the room
Big bass from a slim cabinet is the classic difficulty of floorstanders. In the prophecy9 the job is done by the ATL transmission line with an effective length of 2.57 m, where LaminairX technology improves the air flow. Two 125 mm LTXL woofers with mineral cones and cast alloy chassis reach down to 35 Hz (-3 dB), and the cabinet is only 165 mm wide.
Midrange and treble without fatigue
A 27 mm soft dome tweeter and a 55 mm soft dome midrange work with crossover points at 0.6 kHz and 3.2 kHz, which the manufacturer describes as spacious vocals and strong dynamics. A sensitivity of 91.5 dB (1 W, 1 m) and a 4 ohm impedance suit amplifiers from 30 to 300 W. The full grilles attach with concealed magnets.
