Phoenix Audio N-8 DI packs eight channels of discrete Class-A DI into a single 1U chassis. Every channel runs a transformerless input at 10 megohms and a DSOP-2 output stage with a custom-wound DB694 transformer.
Eight instruments instead of eight boxes under the desk
A session with synths, bass guitar and hardware modules usually ends in a pile of single DI boxes and a tangle of wall warts. The N-8 DI collects all of that into one rack space: eight jack inputs on the front, eight through sockets to pass the signal on to an amp, and eight channels that behave identically. The 10 megohm input does not load a guitar pickup or a synth output, so the top end stays where it belongs instead of disappearing into the cable.

Up to 30 dB of gain per channel sits on a stepped switch rather than a continuous pot, so a week later you return to exactly the same level. Each channel also carries an illuminated 15 dB pad, phase reverse and ground lift, which is the full toolkit for a ground loop hum when there is no time to hunt down the cause. Main and monitor outputs are carried on two D-sub connectors wired to the Tascam DA88 standard, so connecting to an interface is one cable for eight channels.
