Nektar NP-2

Nektar NP-2 is a piano-style sustain pedal with a solid metal base, a rubberised cover and a rubber foot plate. The shape is designed for a pianist's foot, not for an accidental stab with a boot.

A polarity switch: works with any keyboard

Instrument makers never agreed on one standard, so the same pedal sustains on one keyboard and does exactly the opposite on another. A polarity switch settles that once: you flip it and the pedal behaves correctly regardless of the brand.

The piano shape is not about looks

A small rectangular footswitch has to be found by foot and hit precisely. A piano-style pedal offers a large surface, so you play it by reflex — exactly as on an acoustic instrument. For longer piano parts it is the only sensible option. The rubber foot plate keeps the pedal in place, so it does not wander across the floor while you play.
