Nektar FP-2

Acorn FP-2 is a piano-style sustain pedal from Acorn Instruments, Nektar's budget line. A large pressing surface and a rubber underside that keeps the pedal on the floor.

A pedal you do not have to hunt for with your foot

On a longer piano part a small rectangular footswitch stops being enough: you have to aim at it instead of simply playing. The piano shape gives a large surface, so the foot lands by reflex and pedalling starts to resemble work on an acoustic instrument.

A rubber underside instead of a walk across the floor

Light pedals share one flaw: a few minutes into playing they are half a metre away. The rubber base of the FP-2 holds it in place even on a smooth floor, so you do not have to break off playing to pull it back.
