Millennia DC

Millennia DC is a factory option that adds a direct DC-coupled microphone input to a Millennia preamp channel. It is meant for dynamic and ribbon microphones, and it sits alongside the standard 3-pin XLR input with phantom power rather than replacing it.

Millennia states that the DC input improves sonic performance with all dynamic microphones. It gives ribbon and dynamic models a direct input, so you can leave phantom power off for them while the same preamp keeps its phantom-powered input for condensers.

Which preamps and how to order

The option is available on all Millennia C and D preamps, such as the HV-3C, HV-3D-4 and HV-3D-8. It is priced per input, so a two-channel HV-3C with the option on both channels needs two. Because it is installed at the factory, specify it when you order the preamp.
