Mackie ProFX30v3 is a 30-channel analog studio and recording mixer with a built-in 2x4 USB audio interface, 25 Onyx mic preamps, and the GigFX effects engine – the flagship of the ProFXv3 series, built for live sound engineers, houses of worship, rehearsal studios, and production teams that need a full mic complement, four-bus subgroup routing, and stereo USB recording in a single console.
Twenty-five Onyx mic preamps deliver up to 60 dB of gain with an EIN of –126 dBu across channels 1–28. Channels 1–2 carry XLR/TRS combo inputs with Hi-Z switching and a 3-band EQ with variable mid frequency. Channels 3–22 accept XLR or 1/4" mic/line signals. Channels 23/24, 25/26, and 27/28 work as stereo mic/line pairs with XLR and 1/4" L/R jacks. Channel 29/30 uses a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack with a standard 3-band EQ. Single-knob compression is available on channels 1–16, TRS insert points on channels 1–22, and a 100 Hz low-cut filter with globally switched +48V phantom power covers all mic channels.
Four subgroups and three aux sends for complex stage setups
Three independent aux sends per channel allow three simultaneous monitor mixes to run in parallel – dedicated foldback for vocals, guitars, and drums – without touching the front-of-house output. Four subgroup outputs arranged as two stereo pairs (Sub 1/2 and Sub 3/4), each with per-channel assignment buttons and dedicated master faders, enable section-level control: drums under one fader pair, keyboards under another, with the ability to adjust entire sections without individual channel moves. The master section provides separate faders for Main, Sub 1/2, Sub 3/4, and FX. A Control Room TRS output with its own level control gives the engineer an independent monitoring path.
USB 2x4, GigFX, and a full software bundle
The 2x4 USB interface records and plays back at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. The main mix or Sub 1/2 output routes to the computer as a stereo USB stream, while two stereo DAW returns feed back into the mixer for backing tracks and reference material during rehearsals or tracking sessions. Latency-free direct monitoring with an adjustable DAW/analog blend control supports comfortable overdub workflows. The GigFX processor provides 24 effect presets across reverbs, delays, choruses, distortion, and auto-wah, with a dedicated FX Send TRS output for routing to external hardware processors and a 1/4" footswitch input for hands-free FX mute. All channel faders are 60 mm. Included software: Waveform OEM (unlimited tracks), Pro Tools First, and the 23-plugin Mackie Musician Collection.
