Mackie ProFX22v3 is a 22-channel analog studio and recording mixer with a built-in 2x4 USB audio interface, 17 Onyx mic preamps, and the GigFX effects engine – a live sound and studio workhorse for engineers who need a high channel count, three independent monitor sends, and stereo USB recording in a single compact console.
All 17 Onyx mic preamps deliver up to 60 dB of gain with ultra-low noise across channels 1–20. Channels 1–2 carry XLR/TRS combo inputs with Hi-Z switching for direct guitar and bass connection without a DI box. Channels 3–14 accept XLR or 1/4" inputs, channels 15/16, 17/18, and 19/20 take stereo 1/4" line pairs, and channel 21/22 uses a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack. A 100 Hz low-cut filter (18 dB/oct.) and +48V phantom power are present on all mic channels. Single-knob compression is available on channels 1–12, and channels 1–14 carry insert points for external processing.
Three aux sends and dual stereo subgroups
Three fully independent aux sends per channel allow simultaneous separate monitor mixes for vocals, guitars, and drums without compromising the front-of-house mix. Two stereo subgroup outputs with per-channel assignment let engineers submix sections – drums, backing vocals, playback – under a single fader pair, a workflow advantage on busier stage setups. Every channel carries a dedicated FX send level control feeding the internal GigFX engine, which provides 24 effect presets covering reverbs, delays, choruses, distortion, and auto-wah, all instantly mutable via a dedicated button or optional footswitch.
2x4 USB interface and latency-free monitoring
The integrated USB 2x4 interface records and plays back at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Two USB sends deliver the stereo main mix to a computer, while four USB returns bring two independent mixes back from the DAW – one routable to the headphone output for the engineer, another returned to the channel strip for overdub sessions. The latency-free direct monitoring blend control allows mixing the analog input signal with the DAW return without buffer-induced delay, which is critical when tracking live. iOS connectivity is supported via an optional Lightning to USB 3.0 adapter.
